A new generation of rock acts are blooming and we’ve rounded up 12 of the most exciting up-and-coming performers. From a rich revival of classic rock to modern takes on the genre, check out these awesome acts and maybe you’ll find a new favorite.

The Glorious Sons are one of Canada’s most promising up-and-comers, recently topping the Canadian rock chart with “S.O.S. (Sawed Off Shotgun).” The song has reached 5.5 million plays on YouTube and they even snagged a sacred spot opening for The Rolling Stones on tour. The band’s sophomore album, Young Beauties and Fools, even won a JUNO award for Best Rock Album in 2018.

Yungblud is another explosive new act, rising multiple levels in popularity this year alone. In just two weeks, “Parents” has nearly five million plays on YouTube and Yungblud’s collaboration with MGK and Travis Barker, “I Think I’m Okay,” has racked up 13 million YouTube streams in just a month. Most impressively, Yungblud’s “11 Minutes” has over 32 million YouTube views since dropping in February.

When it comes to spinning classic sounds with a dark, modern twist, Twin Temple have unlocked a refreshingly evil subgenre — Satanic doo-wop. 1950s girl groups like The Chantels and The Ronettes were squeaky clean and family friendly, but Twin Temple write about sex magick, death and getting steamy with Satan.
